Our small Hansa 2.3s are the perfect junior "starter boat"

and we have plenty of boats available. Most children can pick up the basics in an hour or so, and they can sail with a parent if that is helpful, or with another child learning together. Brothers and sisters can learn at their own pace, or with a parent to provide an activity for the whole family.

 

We can use the RYA Sailability Certificate of Achievement scheme  to mark progress. Those who are progressing faster can move on to our standard youth boats, Picos and RS Fevas, and take RYA junior training courses at the Surrey Docks Watersports Centre.

 

Junior sailing takes place every Sunday morning 10.30 to 12.30. Juniors are also welcome to sail on Wednesdays during half terms and school holidays. Once juniors have reached a level of independence, they are welcome to join in the Sunday afternoon recreational sailing.
